The PSG Academy methodology focuses on developing well-rounded players who possess both technical skill and tactical awareness. Our coaches at PSG Academy Samui are certified by PSG Academy and hold football licenses from various football federations. Every coach is required to be certified under the FIFA Guardians Safeguarding Essentials as well as abide by Maraleina’s Safeguarding policy.

We pride ourselves in providing our children access to various coaches that have varied backgrounds. Some have experience working in professional football academies, in Africa, Brazil, Europe, Australia and the US, while others have more local experience. Some of our coaches have competed as professional players for clubs abroad, and in Thailand, while others have sports management and other degrees.

Additionally, as a PSG Academy, our coaches undergo yearly rigorous training sessions with the world technical director of football of the PSG Academy network, in order to ensure their training skills remain sharp, and continue to align with the PSG Academy methodology

At PSG Academy Samui, we uphold the PSG Academy methodology, renowned for its efficacy in optimizing player development and performance. Our training sessions, conducted both at our outlet in Chaweng and at Maraleina Sports Resort in Bangkao, are structured to bolster players’ skills and further development. All training sessions are prepared and analyzed in advance and are created according to the age category, respecting the PSG Academy methodology and the children’s growth and development process.

Moreover, we maintain regular communication with the world technical team of football at the PSG Academy network. In conjunction with the world PSG Academy technical team that visited Samui to understand our island better, it was recommended and determined that the length provided in our training session is sufficient for a child’s development across various growth, developmental and player engagement factors.

Additionally, we pride ourselves in providing sufficient staffing to pay attention and provide feedback to each player. By doing this, we focus on the quality of the training, keeping the players engaged, in a safe learning environment.

Locally, as a company that has been involved in football in Thailand for over a decade (which is also a part of the MOL), we have relationships with local academies in the region, and strive to provide our players with competitive opportunities, with both local, and foreign locations. Additionally, as Maraleina Sports Resort is our parent company, and it hosts many youth tournaments involving teams both from Thailand, and the region (Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, etc) we have direct access to these valuable opportunities. Additionally PSG Academy Samui Cups are held several times during the year, also giving the option to participate in a competitive way.

Being a PSG Academy in Samui with a network of over 200 academies also offers players the chance to participate in international tournaments such as the Paris Saint-Germain Academy World Cup, and PSG Academy Selection Camp, providing valuable exposure and competitive experiences. This gives our children life long lasting moments, just like the professionals at Parc de Prince.

Absolutely, tracking our players’ progress is crucial for the PSG Academy. Conducting football evaluative tests allows our coaches to gather objective data on various aspects of our players’ performances. By systematically collecting this information over time, our coaches can monitor each player’s development, identify areas of strength and areas needing improvement. Additionally, creating and maintaining a database of player development enables our coaches to track long-term progress and provide valuable feedback to both players and parents. This structured approach helps ensure that players receive personalized attention and support to reach their full potential within the academy.

Absolutely. We provide individual player reports, offering insights into each player’s performance, strengths, and areas for improvement. This personalized feedback aids players in understanding their development trajectory. These individualized reports are provided to the players after completion of our football assessment at least every 3 months. Also our feedback is provided daily during training sessions and tournaments.

Yes, we are committed to improving and expanding our offerings at PSG Academy Samui located in Chaweng. In the near future, we will enhance and broaden the food and beverage options on-site, as well as upgrade the retail store within the premises. Additionally, as sustainability and our children’s needs are important to our company, we are committed to provide our children with complimentary water during their training in a sustainable way.

Maraleina Sports Resort in Bangkao as our parent company, provides access to a premier covered 7 a-side and open 11-a-side pitch as well as an 7 and 11-a-side natural grass football pitches. Additionally, older players at our academy have the opportunity to utilize the High Performance Center in Bangkao during special training sessions. This state-of-the-art facility is unique on Koh Samui and rare to find elsewhere in Thailand, offering advanced training equipment and resources to further enhance player development. We continuously strive to provide our players with the best possible training environments to maximize their potential on the field.

Yes, we offer a variety of weekend activities to complement our training sessions, fostering skill development, team camaraderie, and enjoyment for players. Due to Maraleina Sports Resort being our parent company, we provide our children with unique access to the world class facilities, that include the only private 11-a-side pitches on the island. With Maraleina’s focus on pre-seasons, there is a real opportunity that the academy players might be able to sight and bump shoulders with some of their footballing idols during the weekend!

Samui United Academy had operated since 2010 as an independent entity. In order to increase the access to our children on the island, Maraleina Sports Resort transformed Samui United to the PSG Academy Samui in March of 2024.

Samui United Academy prices had not been adjusted since 2013. Samui United Academy did not have access to the Maraleina Sports Resort, as the PSG Academy Samui shall have. For all of the value provided by the PSG Academy network, we have additional costs to pay to the license holder.

Despite the price adjustment, parents can rest assured that the PSG Academy Samui remains committed to providing service and competitive pricing on a not-for-profit basis.

We hope that an understanding of the inflation rate, devaluation of the Thai Baht, and capital investment required by the company to provide the benefits afforded to our children with the opportunity of having a PSG Academy in Samui, is evident.

Apart from the benefits that the PSG Academy network offers to our children, our company’s access to footballing opportunities within Thailand and abroad is a strong reason to consider our academy.

Maraleina Sports Resort has invested in youth football, having started the SUA Promaker project in 2018. We currently support and manage more than 60 players in Thailand, many of which have secured positions in the Thai national team. In order to facilitate their development, we own a third division football team – Maraleina Huahin FC.

Within our network, we have facilitated the signing of players in the Thai premier league clubs, and Europe. We have also facilitated scholarship opportunities to professional residency programs within Asia and Europe, for children looking to continue their football aspirations, with a solid scholastic foundation.

Jonathas Candido will be joining our team in September 2024 as Maraleina Sport Resort’s Head of Sports. His reputation having worked as the Head of Football at the British International School of Phuket – Cruzeiro esporte for over a decade will help us to continue in providing these opportunities to our children.
